the course that brings it to life

Are you struggling to understand what SDA is and how to complete an assessment and report?

Have you found lots of the information to be too technical, scattered in different places or delivered in a way that makes it hard to apply in your day to day practice?

Do you want to ensure the best outcomes from your SDA reports?

Navigating the components of Specialist Disability Accommodation is often challenging, especially when it comes to producing reports for participants wanting to access the initiative.

As SDA Assessors and clinical OT’s working with people who have complex disabilities, we found ourselves  needing to connect two very separate (but important) parts of SDA together: the SDA Design Standard and the Eligibility Legislation to ensure successful outcomes for participants.

In our experience, it is the practical understanding of the design standards combined with the detailed analysis of the participants needs that deliver a strong and impactful SDA report. We have spent years refining a report template that ties this all together.

Now we want to share all of our knowledge with you ...

This course is an in-depth dive into SDA, examining the essential components of the legislation, bringing to life the SDA Design Standards inside a newly-built home and finally, assembling an SDA report.

It is a must-have for any occupational therapist who supports participants eligible for SDA and a game-changer for the entire industry.

"The SDA online course was really valuable and will definitely assist me in my role as a support coordinator for clients wanting to access SDA in their NDIS Plans. It's a complex subject which this course helped simplify and clarify.  I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to get a good grasp on SDA without feeling overwhelmed."

Liz - Specialist Support Coordinator
"I found OTuition SDA courses very helpful. I am about to embark on my first SDA development project and as I don’t work in the industry, I found the NDIS design standard a little overwhelming. I found this course provided very useful information including videos and images of completed projects and examples or real life scenarios which helped me understand the reasoning behind the specifications included in the SDA design standards."

Amanda - SDA Developer
"After this course I felt confident that I knew and understood the process and components which needed to be considered when fabricating an SDA assessment or even before opting for an SDA option for the client. I loved that it provided the structure for the report writing, what to include and examples which was helpful to see what it would look like and for something to refer back to."
